When I first started writing my blog, everyone said I should start using Instagram. Personally I didn’t know what the fuss was about. But now a couple of months in and active on Instagram, I absolutely love it!! I was surprised of how supportive the Insta community was. And that’s when I came across Torres House. And what a house it is! I had been following Torres House for a while before we decided to meet up. Lena is based in Brighton so it was easy. Since then we’ve been to each others houses given interiors advice and I’ve found a new friend. And on top of that Lena is one of the nicest people I’ve met. We have the same passions (interiors of course) and have little one’s, so it’s a win win in my eyes.
Anyway’s, enough of my waffling. Here’s some insider scoop on Lena, the loveliest person on Instagram and her amazing house. So if you’re not following Lena on Instagram, your seriously missing out. Her captions always make me laugh and her pics are great too! So go follow.
I hope you enjoy xx
Brief Biog
“We are a family of 4. My husband Sergio, from Argentina, who is a football player and coach. Myself: an Event Manager but currently stay at home mum, from Germany (but originally from Russia). We have two lovely girls Luna 6 & Nala 2 and a Dachshund dog called Carlos. We moved to Brighton about 7 years ago because of Sergio’s job. Coming from different countries, we chose Brighton to be our home and we absolutely love it. When our family got bigger we sold our 2 bed flat and brought a 3 bed 1930’s semi. Having the responsibility of being parents we were looking for a family friendly area with good schools and a big garden. The house market in Brighton is pretty quick and houses sell fast. So we found our house 2 years ago and it was the garden that really sold it to us”
My style is industrial/bohemian. I love the light feel of the boho style mixed with raw industrial products like steel, bricks, concrete and wood”

What’s next for you?
“I’m leaping into something new which is close to my heart and has always made me happy. I’ve been lucky I’ve lived in 4 countries and am married to someone from a completely different culture. So I’ve always had a very soft spot for the “local, traditional, handmade and artisan products from all the countries I’ve travelled to. And when on holiday or visiting family I always make sure we visit local villages. So if you look around my kitchen, you’ll see a fruit bowl from Termas de Rio Hondo, Argentina. A cheese board from North America. A salad bowl from Tavira, Portugal. A hammock from Orosi, Costa Rica and a sugar bowl from Orenburg, Russia. Seriously, the list is endless.
There are so many beautiful things around the world and it’s always been a dream of mine to bring the world together. I call myself a treasure hunter. And I believe these little treasures, made with love, by hand and unique to most, tell a great story. I want to find out more and empower their cultures, their art and their traditions. So my new venture is to source and sell such products. The first product I’ve found are these beautiful beach baskets made by local villagers in Thailand. I’ll be sharing all my products on my Instagram so go check them out”.
